Gonzalo Sánchez appointed Regional Sales Manager

March 14th, 2016: Purple, the intelligent spaces company, today announced the opening of a new office in Madrid, Spain.

Gonzalo Sánchez has been appointed to the role of Regional Sales Manager, reporting to Roberto Aguirre, Sales Director, EMEA who is also based in the Madrid office. Gonzalo is an experienced business developer, having held previous sales manager roles at Teradata. Currently there is a team of six based in the Madrid office, including the company’s Chief Revenue Officer, Eric Law.

Purple is enjoying rapid global expansion. 134 countries are now using the Purple platform, with 8 million users in 15.5k venues benefiting from seamless WiFi connection. Purple has recently rebranded to reflect its focus on delivering ‘Intelligent Spaces’. Adding to its guest WiFi, analytics and marketing product, the evolved Purple offering encompasses a wider range of data elements. The resulting intelligence provides valuable learning about customers and venues – information that shapes business decisions.

Turning Madrid Purple

With existing strongholds in Europe, Asia-Pac, the Americas and Australia and New Zealand, Purple’s customer base includes Molson Coors, Legoland, Jaguar, United Wireless Arena, City of York and TUI. Purple’s Madrid office, in Calle de María de Molina, will serve 50+ existing customers in Spain, including Porcelanosa, as well as reaching out to new prospects and growing the business through Service Providers and partners.

Gonzalo Sánchez comments, “Being closer to our Spanish clients is essential for us. We can learn more about the businesses that we work with, which helps us to develop solutions in which their IT (CTO) and marketing (CMO) departments can collaborate.

“There is a huge appetite for ‘Intelligent Spaces’ in Spain and Europe in a wide range of sectors, including retail industry, restaurants, hotels and banking. We look forward to networking with businesses and offering workshops and training, to raise awareness of what Purple can achieve for customer-facing European businesses.”

‘Intelligent Spaces’ Explained

Purple’s latest product developments, integral to ‘Intelligent Spaces’ include: Purple Location, which pinpoints devices to enable heat-mapping, zone flow information and journey management; Purple Fusion, supporting connection to any type of data source, making it possible to collect a wide scope of information about a physical space, which can be analysed and acted upon; and Purple Provision, a commercial product, which offers a completely secure guest and staff WiFi environment, ideal to facilitate BYOD.

Roberto Aguirre, Sales Director, EMEA, comments: “The Madrid office is already growing quickly and we are seeing huge demand for our services. Purple is taking the lead in visualising data about any physical space, pulling in all sorts of data points. When this is combined with the information already available through WiFi data, Purple can provide information about the location and customers that can be analysed and acted-upon, bringing unmatched business and customer benefits.”
