Press release: Purple WiFi strikes distribution deal with Purdicom

Posted on | Updated on

Purple WiFi has reached a significant milestone in the company’s channel sales strategy by signing a deal with technology and networking distributor, Purdicom.  The agreement will see Purple WiFi solutions being sold by Purdicom to new resellers and its existing 600 in the UK and across the Middle East & Africa.

Purple WiFi, a division of So Purple Group Ltd, provides businesses with enterprise guest WiFi which meets all legal requirements while delivering rich analytical information about the customer base, who they are, how often they come, how long they stay and many other reports overlayed with social media data due to the unique login process via FaceBook, Twitter or LinkedIn. This solution allows venues to segment their customer base and actively market their venue by targeting relevant promotional offers at WiFi users more effectively.

Purple WiFi fully integrates with a range of existing WiFi equipment, including AirTight Networks and Ruckus Wireless, of which Selcoms is the largest EMEA distributor.

Commenting on the deal, Gavin Wheeldon, CEO at So Purple Group said:  “This is a great opportunity for Purple WiFi to be sold more widely by an established sales network and we are pleased to be on board with Selcoms, which is a well known and trusted name in the Wireless industry. Our sales strategy is to work with the resellers to ensure that we can leverage existing sales relationships that they have in place, while our own salespeople will provide support around the product detail and integration capabilities.”

Hugh Garrod, Managing Director of Purdicom comments: “We’re pleased to be able to add Purple WiFi to our portfolio of products, given it’s innovative approach to ensuring that those companies providing WiFi to their customers are actually getting something back in return.  The reporting capabilities are incredibly valuable and we expect there to be a good take up across our network of resellers.”

Wheeldon adds: “We are looking forward to the continued growth of Purple WiFi, which allows businesses to build brand awareness, attracting new customers to their premises without the need for big marketing budgets or costly time investment.  Designed to primarily provide businesses with the free service that is demanded by today’s consumers, Purple WiFi ensures that anyone using the service within a social space such as a bar or hotel, can gain free access by simply clicking ‘like’ on the relevant Facebook page or ‘tweeting’ about their location.”
