Purple allows Stables Market in Camden to offer an easy to use WiFi service with the added bonus of WiFi marketing opportunities and footfall monitoring

August 19, 2014: Purple, the intelligent spaces company, today announced the launch of a secure and legal Social WiFi solution for Stables Market Camden, London’s favourite market.

The fully supported service will be free for users 24 hours a day and will offer Stables Market Camden access to helpful data from the network. This includes footfall mapping, allowing visibility on how public spaces in the market are being used.

Working with Cisco Meraki indoor and outdoor access points, Purple has provided Camden Market with everything it needs to run a free WiFi service. This includes a tailored portal, user registration and authentication, content filtering, legal compliance, anonymous and aggregated location metrics, user statistics, presence reports, social WiFi access and WiFi marketing opportunities.

Stables Market Camden is the latest London location to offer free WiFi. London venues that already offer free WiFi via various different WiFi providers, include; The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye, Natural History Museum, Kensington Palace, London Underground and London Film Museum.

Purple is cloud-based which means that it can work with practically any hardware and is scalable in terms of customer need and geographic location. It offers an alternative to existing WiFi services by putting the focus back on the business or venue. It does this by offering marketing tools and analytics to derive value from interactions with customers whilst providing a secure and independent channel for commercial use.

Jac Timms, IT Manager, Stables Market Camden, comments: “We were looking for a fast, scalable, quick to set-up and easy to use platform, without the usual issues associated with running a large free WiFi hotspot. The team at Purple deployed incredibly quickly and the ease of use is impressive.

“The ability to watch the traffic flow within the market is also a major reason for working with Purple as it helps us to understand how our visitors move around the market and which elements are working well as well as identifying areas that need more attention.”

“Now more than ever, businesses and cities are realizing the benefits that WiFi location analytics delivers,” said Sarah Eccleston, Director of Enterprise Networks, UK&I, at Cisco. “It’s no longer good enough to have wireless connectivity – understanding consumer behaviour is what matters. We’re pleased to be working with Purple, giving Stables Market Camden a means to personalize the user experience and the data intelligence for local businesses to customize their marketing campaigns. It’s a win-win for everybody.”

Gavin Wheeldon, CEO, Purple comments: “Stables Market Camden is a great example of how free WiFi helps consumers, but also benefits the venue by delivering real-time information on how the market is being used, with the opportunity to deliver relevant offers and discounts via targeted WiFi marketing.

“Having access to free WiFi is now essential and working with Cisco Meraki, Stables Market’s WiFi network was set up and operational in record time.”

Purple is available at Stables Market Camden now and will launch officially at an event on Thursday, September 4th, 2014.
